Hello everyone, our names are Eunice and Milena and we were studying the heart .
Our question was why is the heart placed where it is? We found out that the heart is where it is because the ribs protect it and if there were no ribs there would be nothing to protect it. The heart is where it is because since it’s in the middle it is easier to pump blood all around your body. The heart is taking part in heat redistribution process. Because it is in the middle of the body, where most of the heat resides, it’s easier to move the heat through the blood. Another thing we would like to learn about is the lungs and how the lungs connect with the heart.

Congrats to Seema Alazhari, this week's student of the week. Each week a student receives an award if they put in extra effort and show a great work ethic. Seema worked hard to produce great Bar Charts and Trend Graphs this week in Maths, and had a very positive attitude towards her work all week. Well done Seema!
Today we started learning about the fascinating organ we all depend on: The Heart. We worked as groups to brainstorm and present what we already know about the heart. From this, we now have a list of questions that we want to research this week. If you have time, how about getting a headstart?!
Here are our questions: Congratulations to our new Class Representatives! The following students will represent Rowan Class on our student committees:
1. Student Council Milena, Kayomide, Candy, Seema 2. Green School's Committee Eunice, Loïc 3. Forest School / School Garden Committee Rhema, Sumukh Congrats to all the students. The standard of speeches at assembly was very high, and they all worked hard to prepare captivating posters to advertise their campaigns. A great start to the year! Today Rowan Class helped out in the TYT Soul in the Community Day. We spent the afternoon cleaning up the area around Tyrrelstown with pupils from St. Luke's, Tyrrelstown Educate Together, and Le Chéile.
This was a great opportunity for the Green Schools committe nominees to think about ways they can contribute to developing a cleaner, greener school here at Powerstown too! It was a lovely day for it and we gathered lots of trash! This Friday will be an exciting day in Rowan class. During assembly the nominees will give election speeches to the whole senior school, and then we will vote for:
Here are some of the election posters our candidates have made this week: We had a really busy week this week settling in. All the pupils were working hard getting to know each other, reading and writing stories, developing place value knowledge and developing our knowledge on trees through identification keys. Already looking forward to next week!
